The Australian Government has introduced a new, one-off Medicare Healthy Kids Check for children aged 3 years. This is a once-in-a-lifetime assessment launched under the Thriving Kids initiative.
This comprehensive appointment gives us dedicated time to review your child’s physical development, growth, communication, and emotional wellbeing. Spotting developmental milestones or neurodevelopmental differences early ensures your family gets the right support before primary school begins.
- Appointment: A 60-minute combined session consisting of 30 minutes with our Practice Nurse, followed immediately by 30 minutes with your GP.
- What to bring: Your child’s Blue Book if you can (NSW personal health record)
- What it covers: Development, sleep, toileting, lifestyle, and any of your parental questions
- Cost: The fee for this consultation is covered by Medicare- there is no out of pocket cost.
