Rozelle Total Health now has stock of AREXVY RSV vaccine. RSV (Respiratory syncytial Virus) is a virus that causes upper and lower respiratory tract infection and can cause severe disease, particularly in older people.
The RSV vaccination is recommended for:
- all people aged over 75 years and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged over 60 years
- people with medical risk factors for severe RSV disease aged over 60 years
- pregnant women to protect their newborn infant (Abrysvo vaccine- we do not have stock of this as of July 2024)
The medical risk factors for severe RSV disease include:
- cardiac disease
- chronic respiratory conditions
- immunocompromising conditions
- chronic metabolic disorders, including diabetes
- chronic kidney disease (stage 4 or 5)
- chronic neurological conditions
- obesity
A single dose is recommended to protect older people. This vaccine is not government funded and attracts a fee of $320 per dose. Please call our reception team on 02 9087 4600 to book an appointment.
