
Dr Shannon Zawada is a Fertility Specialist and Gynaecologist with extensive experience supporting women and couples through infertility and a broad range of reproductive and gynaecological concerns. She holds a medical degree and a Master’s in Human Reproduction and Human Genetics from the University of Sydney, along with RANZCOG-certified subspecialist qualifications in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). This is the highest recognised qualification for a Fertility Specialist in Australia.
Shannon is a consultant Fertility Specialist and Gynaecologist at Life Fertility Sydney, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, The Royal Hospital for Women, and Canterbury Hospital. She is also a Visiting Medical Officer at Prince of Wales Private Hospital and St Luke’s Hospital, and a lecturer in Perinatal and Women’s Health at the University of Sydney.
Her clinical interests include ovulation disorders, PCOS, recurrent miscarriage, endometriosis, fibroids, colposcopy, complex infertility, fertility preservation (including medical and social egg freezing), andrology, preimplantation genetic testing, donor conception, surrogacy, menopause, contraception, and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.
She takes a patient-centred and empathetic approach to care, recognising the emotional impact fertility and reproductive challenges can have. She values collaborative relationships with GPs and is always happy to discuss cases or support shared care.
